ABOUT THE EVENT

Hotel Fiction is an alternative rock and indie rock band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 2019 by Jade Ireland (vocals, piano, rhythm guitar) and Jessica Thompson (vocals, lead guitar) . The duo met while studying at the University of Georgia, where they began writing songs together in 2018. Their chemistry led to the creation of Hotel Fiction, which quickly became a fixture in the Athens music scene.

The name “Hotel Fiction” was chosen for its open-ended, imaginative quality — symbolizing creativity, storytelling, and the idea of a place you can visit and leave. Over the years, they expanded the lineup to include Aaron Daugherty (lead guitar, synth), Aidan Hill (bass), and Gideon Johnston (drums).

Their sound blends nostalgic rock, intimate indie folk, and theatrical storytelling, drawing from influences like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, AC/DC, David Bowie, and Fleetwood Mac. Their music often explores themes of friendship, heartbreak, nature, and the passage of time, with a focus on emotional depth and narrative richness.

They have supported Flipturn, Adam Melcho, Beach Fossils and the Brook & The Bluff. They will also be playing Shakey Knees and SummerFest this supper along with an opening slot for The Strumbellas in March of 2026.
